This is a very exciting development in raising the efficiency of PV modules. I'm looking forward to hearing who it is that Oxford PV have teamed up with here. With their new manufacturing facility in Germany we could see super-efficient modules coming off the production line very soon. This revolutionary perovskite technology has the ability to boost the performance of silicon and CIGS solar cell as well as having some interesting applications in the BIPV market. One to keep a eye on.
UK-based perovskite specialist Oxford PV has signed a joint development agreement (JDA) with a global manufacturer of solar cells and modules. Oxford PV has not named the partner but said it would focus on helping commercialise and up-scale the silicon/perovskite PV technology it has been developing, while also working on necessary manufacture processes. Frank Averdung, chief executive at Oxford PV, said the agreement provided “independent ratification” of the company’s technology.
